Plain English summary. We design and build the Athena IT website to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. If you encounter a barrier, please tell us — we'll fix it and we'll do better.
1. Our commitment
Athena IT is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA issued by the World Wide Web Consortium.
2. Standards we follow
- WCAG 2.2 Level AA — perceivable, operable, understandable, robust.
- Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act — relevant requirements for federal procurement.
- EN 301 549 — relevant European accessibility requirements.
- ADA Title III — accessibility for places of public accommodation.
- Unruh Civil Rights Act — California civil-rights protections.
3. What we have done
- Designed every page with sufficient color contrast (≥ 4.5:1 for body text, ≥ 3:1 for large text and meaningful UI).
- Used semantic HTML, descriptive headings, and proper landmark regions.
- Provided a "Skip to content" link on every page.
- Ensured all interactive elements are keyboard-accessible with visible focus states.
- Provided meaningful alt text for non-decorative images and aria-labels for icon-only buttons.
- Honored
prefers-reduced-motionfor animations and transitions. - Tested with screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA) and keyboard-only navigation.
4. Known limitations
We are aware of the following limitations and are working to address them:
- Some embedded third-party content (e.g., social media icons, video players) may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA. We choose vendors carefully and report issues to them when we find them.
- Our older customer portal (used by existing clients only) is undergoing a redesign expected to complete in 2026.
5. Assistive technologies supported
- VoiceOver (macOS, iOS)
- NVDA and JAWS (Windows)
- TalkBack (Android)
- Latest two major versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge
